October Favourite's

I can't believe how quick this year is going! Also, this November my blog will be 5 months old! It's gone so fast and I'd like to thank all of you for helping my blog to be how it is. As it's the end of October, I'm going to be sharing the products I've been enjoying this month with you.

Glade Warm Orange & Spice candle - I picked this up this month because it was half price and I've wanted a Christmas scented candle to burn in my room. I've really enjoyed this! The smell is really strong so lingers in the room for ages, it also say it lasts for 30 hours and I actually agree because it burns slowly. I also like the little jar it comes in!

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer in 002 (review HERE) - I never thought I would rely on a face primer but ever since starting my beauty course, I've needed that extra something to keep my makeup looking fresh all day. This primer is soft to apply, keeps my skin smooth and my makeup looking nice. This has been a real life saver this month!

Vera Wang Princess Eau de Toilette - I finally picked this perfume up this month (read the haul HERE) and have used it pretty much every day. It has a sweet, girly and floral scent to it which I love. It stays on my skin for a long time and I always use the roller ball that came with it for touch ups throughout the day. This is definitely my favourite perfume at the moment!

Bloom Cosmetics Pure Mineral Radiant Touch Blush in Rosie - I never used to wear blusher every day, but ever since buying this, I've used it almost daily. It gives a natural pink glow to the cheeks which I love for this time of year.

Makeup Academy Lipstick in Shade 8 (review HERE) - I really can't get enough of this lipstick! It's a deep red colour, which comes out a little bit pinker on the lips, with lots of gold glitter in. It's basically Christmas in a tube! I'll have a post (HERE) up of me wearing it soon.

Red nail polish - Ever since practising manicures at college, I've loved having bright red nails. I've never really been a huge fan of it, but recently it's all I want to wear! I used 17's High Gloss Nail Polish in Risky Red as an example in the picture.

Pink rose earrings - these are some pretty stud earrings that I wear practically everyday to college. I think they're from Miss Selfridge years ago.

Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen

I love Ellie's music and can listen to her on repeat for hours! I really like this single and can't wait to get her new CD for Christmas.

What are your October favourite's?

It would really mean a lot if you headed over to the page and gave it a like! The link is below:

Thank you!

Magazine Freebies | InStyle

InStyle magazine November 2012 issue
Bene Tint 4ml RRP £24.50 for 12.5ml
Cha Cha Tint 4ml RRP £24.50 for 12.5ml
Swatches straight from the brush (not blended in)
Everyone loves a good freebie, and when I found on InStyle magazine were giving away 3 mini Benefit products I couldn't wait to get my hands on them! The 3 products up for grabs are: Bene Tint (a rose lip/ cheek tint), Cha Cha Tint (a mango lip/ cheek tint) and Sun Beam (a golden highlighter). I picked up the Bene Tint and Cha Cha Tint as there were no Sun Beams left. I'm not too fussed because I rarely use highlighters anyway. But I am really excited I managed to find the tints because I've wanted to try them both for so long! Each mini freebie comes with 4ml of product, which is a third of the full sized product. As I picked my magazines up in Tesco, I only payed £2.50 (£3.80 elsewhere) for each magazine so this is a fantastic deal!

The tints are like mini nail polishes as they come in glass bottles and have a brush applicator. I remember once in year 7, my friend was applying a tint to her lips and I nearly freaked because I thought she was putting red nail polish on her lips haha! I love how the minis are exactly the same looking as the full sized products so you can get a true feel of the products before you go and buy the full size.
The Bene Tint is a lovely pink rose colour which I think will be great for Autumn and Winter for extra rosy cheeks. The Cha Cha Tint however is probably best for Summer because it gives an orange/ coral flush to cheeks and lips. They both apply really well and are pigmented, but you do have to work fast with them as they dry quickly.

As well as getting these freebies with the magazine, if you turn to page 169 you will find that if you bring in that page to any Benefit counter/ boutique, you can get a free mini Bag Gal Lash mascara! So basically 2 freebies per magazine! This is a great magazine freebie set and I recommend you picking it up!

Have you picked up the Benefit freebies yet?

Miss Selfridge Statement Necklace

Miss Selfridge Gold Triangle Necklace £10 £3

Firstly, just want to say sorry I've been away for over a week! I just haven't had time to blog even though I've had quite a few ideas. I will try and get posts up more frequently. Also, I have started to buy a few things for a Christmas giveaway on my blog! It will be up in a couple of weeks, so keep an eye out! Anyway, on with the post...
I have never been one to wear bigger and bolder necklace, so I usually go for dainty and pretty ones. However the other day I bought a black, high necked peplum top from the Rupublic sale and thought that some form of statement necklace would go perfectly with it. I found this Miss Selfridge necklace in the sale for just £3 and thought it would be perfect to sit around the neckline of the top. Now, I know this isn't a huge statement necklace, but considering I wear more dainty jewellery this is enough for me.
This necklace is 5 tarnished golden triangles, each with Aztec detailing and a little diamante in the middle. On the smallest link, it sits perfectly on the neckline of the top. I am really happy with this necklace and think it looks so pretty with the top. I can't wait to wear it out soon!

Do leave a comment if you like these sort of posts about clothes/ accessories in more detail!

Review | Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters

Revlon lip butters are a beauty blogger favourite. I am pretty sure you have seen numerous reviews about these lip products and I know I'm pretty late to be reviewing them! These lip butters have been in the UK for a good few months ago now and I remember being so excited as I had seen so many amazing reviews from American bloggers and vloggers. The three colours I picked up were: Berry Smoothie (a deep pink/ plum) , Strawberry Shortcake (a bright, light pink) and Tutti Frutti (a bright orange).

The packaging of these lip butters is so sleek and good looking. I love that the plastic sleeves are the same colour as the actual product, so makes looking for the colour you want much easier. However, mine do have a few cracks in now so they're not the strongest packaging. I also really like the mirrored section of the product, it definitely makes it feel much more expensive than it was.

As for the actual product, you do not get that much in a tube. I've probably used about 1/4 of each of the lip butters and in the photos, they were all very nearly turned up fully. Also, the product is prone to melting and becoming dis-formed. As they're so soft heat, even from your handbag in summer, can just melt them. However, the fact they're so soft and lovely to apply is one of the main features I love about these lip butters. They feel like you're applying lip balm and that they are moisturising the lips. For me, I find that the pigmentation is really good. I have seen a few reviews where the product barely showed up on the person's hand or lips. When I apply this, it looks like I'm wearing a very shiny lipstick, just not hugely pigmented. As they're not heavy feeling, these are perfect for Summer but am still wearing them in the Autumn/ Winter months. The staying power is actually quite good considering they do not dry to the lips. They usually stay for about 3 hours if you don't eat and drink.

If you haven't tried these lip butters I really recommend you do! Definitely a must have in any makeup collection.

You can buy Revlon lip butters from Boots, Superdrug (which are both doing 3 for 2 deals on beauty items) and some supermarkets.

Nails Of The Day | Stars & Glitter

Left to right: Essie 'To Buy Or Not To Buy' | Revlon 'Star' | Barry M 'Silver Glitter' | Barry M 'Hologram'
Hey everyone!
So today I have another nails of the day post! I'm going out tonight and because I can't have my nails painted very much (blame college!), I wanted to make my nails have an extra 'something' than usual.
This look is a glitter ring finger and nail tips than would be perfect for winter because of all the cool colours.

I started with a base coat from The Nail Doctor Strengthening kit (review coming soon) to prep my nails for all the polish. I then applied 2 coats of Essie's 'To Buy Or Not To Buy' which is a cool, lilac colour with blue shimmer. Then over my ring finger, I applied about 3 coats of Revlon 'Star' which is a mixture of navy and silver glitters. I then left this over night to make sure it was completely dry for the next steps.
The next day I applied about 2 coats Barry M's 'Silver Glitter' to the ring fingers. Whilst it was still wet, I use the pointy end of an orange wood stick to pick up some of the chunkier glitters in Barry M's 'Hologram'. This makes the nail more interesting as it has different sized glitters on.
For the tips, I used Nailene Perfect Tips strips (as I am not a neat painter) and applied a coat of 'Star' and 'Silver Glitter'. I then waited for about 40 minutes and peeled the strips off. If you do it any earlier, the glitter will just peel off too. Finally I used the top coat from The Nail Doctor kit! So much nail polish haha!
I love how it turned out considering I rarely do tip colour/ glitter to my nails.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Magazine Freebies | Cosmopolitan (UK)

Cosmopolitan UK Issue November 2012 £3.50

I feel like I haven't done a Magazine Freebie post in ages! However, there are quite a few out at the moment and I will try to collect them all!
In this month's issue of Cosmopolitan, there is a free Missguided Lipsplash lip gloss available in 3 different colours: a peach (Peace), a light pink and a hot purple/ pink (I can't find the names of the other lipglosses anywhere! How annoying). You also get a free mini tube of Oral B 3D White, but I haven't photographed it. Cosmo had an issue a couple months a go with a free Missguided nail varnish which I really liked, so was quite excited to try this.

I chose Peace because I'm not the biggest fan of pink lipgloss as I think it looks weird on my lips. I usually go for more orange toned lip products, so thought this lip gloss would be great for everyday use. As you can see from the swatch, it's quite a neutral lip gloss, so will also add a nice 'your lips but better' shine to your lips.
To be honest, there's nothing amazingly special about this lips gloss and I definitely wouldn't spend £5 on it.  It's just the average lip gloss that every girl has in their collection which can be thrown in your handbag for touch ups during the day. It's a little bit sticky and the smell isn't that great, the usual cheap plastic lip gloss smell. But I do like how it looks on the lips and gives them a nice shine.
I won't be picking up the other 2 lip glosses, but if anyone else has made a post about them, I'd love to see it! Also, if you have spotted any other magazine freebies, feel free to let me and others know in the comments below!

Have you tried the Missguided Lipsplash freebie?

Haul | Fragrance Direct & TK Maxx

Vera Wang Princess Eau De Toilette Spray 100 ml & Vera Wang Princess Roller Ball 6ml £38.99
Essie Nail Polish in Orange, It's Obvious, Tour De Fiance, To Buy Or Not To Buy & Navigate Her £9.99 | YSL Manifesto Eau de Parfum Sample RRP £44 for 30ml, £60 for 50ml & £85 for 90ml
The Nail Doctor Rescue Me 10 Day Strengthening System £1.95 | Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in 332 Baby Pink 99p| Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Balm in Pink Crystal £1
All 5 Nail Polishes Swatches With 2 Coats
Hello, I'm back with another of my hauls!
A week ago, I made my very first order with Fragrance Direct as I have heard you can grab some really good beauty bargains. The delivery is cheap, but not the quickest (I chose 2nd class for just £1.99) however I am a patient person, so I wasn't too fussed. This is definitely a great site to shop on and I will be doing so very soon, especially for Christmas presents!

The first thing I put in my 'basket' was the Vera Wang Princess perfume. I have been dying to try this for so long but could never justify spending £60 or so on a perfume. When I saw it on Fragrance Direct for £38.99 for the 100ml, 6ml roller ball and a free sample of the YSL Manifesto perfume, I jumped at the chance! It's a lovely girly, fruity and floral scent which would have been perfect for Summer. There is also another 100ml Vera Wang Princess perfume on this site which retails at £50.99 which doesn't include the roller ball or the free sample! So make sure you click on this LINK like I did to save and get more for your money!
Next I clicked on The Nail Doctor Rescue Me 10 Day Strengthening System. I have never heard of this brand before or seen any reviews on it, but it was only £1.95 so thought I'd pick it up. I have very weak nails and always split and peel, so if this works out, I'll be very happy! This is a 2 step system that includes a base and top coat which have vitamins and proteins to help strengthen your nails. I will do a review on this product once I have tried it out, so there will be more details in that post.
The final thing from Fragrance Direct was the Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Nail Polish in 332 Baby Pink for just 99p. As you can see from the pictures, I wouldn't class this as a baby pink, just a normal to Barbie kind of pink. However, I did read a review of this before I bought it and actually like the colour despite the name. It applies really well, but probably needs 3 coats to be fully opaque.

At the weekend, I popped into my local TK Maxx to see if I could find any bargains. I ended up buying a box of 4 Essie Nail Polishes for £9.99 in the colours: Orange, It's Obvious (an orange - obviously), Tour De Fiance (a hot pink with blue/ purple shimmer), To Buy Or Not To Buy (a lilac with blue shimmer) and Navigate Her (a pale green). I love all of the colours, even the green which I wasn't so keen on. They apply really well and I can see why people have so many of them! I also saw that all these polishes are on Fragrance Direct as well for £1.99 each, but I don't feel ripped off as buying all 4 including the P&P, it comes to £9.95.

And finally, what is a haul without something from Poundland? I found this Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Balm in Pink Crystal which is a hot pink colour with bits of shimmer in. I'm slightly disappointed with this as the colour pay off is non-existent and I find it's quite sticky on the lips. However, I like the watermelon smell and the fact it has SPF 15. It also comes with a little brush, which is slightly pointless as I didn't realise it was there until I was editing these photos haha!

Hoped you enjoyed this haul! Please recommend any more Essie nail polish colours as I really want to get some more!

Nails Of The Day | Once Upon A Time

Left to right - Revlon 910 Barely Peach | Revlon 762 Plum Attraction | Barry M 210 Once Upon A Time
Today I have a autumn/ fall type nail look that I think would be great for Bonfire night! The little strands of purple and silver look like mini fireworks and add texture to your nail.
I have a layer of Barely Peach by Revlon as my base coat and then 2 layers of Revlon's Plum Attraction. This is a lovely plummy purple colour with blue and pink shimmer running through it. It has a very glossy finish so I didn't bother with a top coat today!
I then applied 2 layers of Once Upon A Time by Barry M to my ring fingers. Chunky glitter polishes can be hard to work with because you can get a lot of the clear nail polish, but not a lot of the glitter. My advice is to apply a normal coat of the glitter polish and then take some of the glitters that are sitting inside neck of the bottle. These won't have much nail polish on them, so you can stick them to your wet nail allowing you to easily have more glitters on your nail. If you kept layering up the nail polish, it would get too thick and either smudge easily or peel off a couple hours later.

Hope you like this nail look!

September Favourite's

Hello ♥
I feel like I haven't written a proper blog post in weeks, so I have decided to do my September Favourite's. I've had loads of favourites this month, so this might be quite a long post!

Revlon Sheer Translucide Nail Enamel in 910 Barely Peach
Now this may look a bit familiar because I have just given away a very similar colour in my giveaway called Scene Stealer. I love using this polish on its own as it gives you a clean, natural manicure look. As I can't wear nail polish to college (which is really annoying!) I secretly use this instead to make sure my nails are strong, look clean and are shiny. It's also a great base coat as it's almost clear, just a tinge of nude.

Revlon Super Lusterous Lip Gloss in 170 Coral Reef
This is probably the best lip gloss I have ever come across. I don't usually wear lip gloss because I don't like the overly shiny affect it gives my lips, but the finish of this Revlon gloss is perfect. It does add shine to your lips, but not too much. I also adore the colour and looks great when applied alone or over a coral lipstick. The smell isn't bad too, so overall is a brilliant product!

Eyelash Curlers
I'm really annoyed at myself right now because I have no idea what brand these are! I picked them up in TK Maxx the other day for £2.99 because I was in need of some new ones and fell in love with the colour haha! They perform really well and feel quite sturdy. I use these every time I curl my eyelashes, which is usually every time I wear makeup!

Accessorize 'A' Initial Ring
I bought this at the beginning of the month and remember it being a bargain at £4 from Accessorize! I love dainty and personalised jewellery as it can go with any outfit. It's so simple but the twisted band and the basic lettering make it look so cute on.

Accessorize Knotted Ring
This is another of my all-time favourite rings. Again, it's so simple yet looks so nice on. I usually wear this if I am wearing my 'A' ring, which seems to be the only ring combo I've been wearing all month!

Bloom Cosmetics Angled Eyeliner and Blending Brush
Bloom has been a great brand for me this month. At my local Superdrug they were doing a clearance on the brand so everything was under £2.99! Considering the RRP of most of their products is around the £14 mark, it was a great saving.
Firstly, the eyeliner brush. This was reduced to 99p when I bought it which was amazing as I have been looking for a brush like this to apply brow powder/ eyeshadow to my eyebrows! It's been working amazingly and is great quality!
Secondly, the blending brush. This was reduced to £1.99, which is still a bargain! I don't actually own a blending brush and have just been using a cheap, fluffy eyeshadow brush to do the job. I love this new brush, it blends so effortlessly and is so much better than what I've been using!

Collection 2000 Shimmering Glow Powder in 04 Espresso
You may have seen in my recent review of the Collection 2000 Bronzing Kit that I do not own many bronzers. Well, I went back into Poundland recently and found some more bronzing products, so I bought this powder and the bronzing balls (both by Collection 2000) to give a go. I love this powder! It gives warmth to my cheeks and is great to use for contouring. Also, you only need a little bit so this will last a long time!

Bloom Cosmetics Pure Mineral Radiant Touch Blusher in Rosie
Another Bloom product I found in the clearance section reduced to £2.99. As this is a mineral blusher, it looks so natural when applied to the cheeks. I've been loving this to warm up my cheeks and give me that rosy glow you get in the winter months.

Hope you enjoyed this post! I will try and get back into the swing of posting regularly.
What are your September favourite's?
