Welcome Back & A New Beginning For Belle-amie!

Hello to my lovely blog readers! As you may or may not have been aware, I have been away from my blog and a lot of my social media for quite some time- just over 4 months to be more precise! I thought I would write a short post just explaining why I haven't been posting as much recently and just to say that I haven't gone for good.

2014 has been a very strange and bumpy year for me. I don't want to go into too much detail as I believe there are certain personal issues that are best kept to yourself. But basically as I have had so much going on in my life since early 2014, I have found it very difficult to maintain high quality of posts on my blog and actually being able to keep the passion alive for posting. As much as I loved the whole process of creating posts and hearing your wonderful feedback about them, my heart was set in other things and I just couldn't make the time to post frequently. Then one day, I just decided it would be best to give myself a little break and come back to the blogging world when I thought it was the right time. I have had a few people asking where I had gone, so I am sorry for leaving so abruptly and not giving an explanation sooner.

Recently I have really missed my little blog Belle-amie. I've missed my readers and the interaction. And mostly, I've missed having my creative outlet where I could really be myself and have a space to write about what I wanted. So after some thinking, I've decided to ease myself back into the blogging world and finally start creating some new content again!

Since taking a break from Belle-amie I have moved house, become a lot busier with work and have developed a laptop that despises being used - grr! So hopefully within the next few weeks I will be able to work out a system that will allow me to get back into the swing of blogging again. I still have my interest in beauty but as I have moved house, interior design and decorating have become a real passion of mine so do expect some varied content on my blog in the near future!

So again, I'm very sorry for leaving my blog for such a long time and I'm extremely thankful to anyone that has still been checking and reading my blog! I am so excited to finally start making some posts again and being able to give it my all in creating some great posts here on Belle-amie!
Thank you for reading and I will speak to all of you again soon!

Lots of love

Review | Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner in Black Review Swatch Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner in Black | £12.00 | LINK

For me, no makeup look is complete without a pop of liquid eye liner to my upper lash line. When I was younger I remember being told by one of my friends that my known makeup look was a flick of eye liner and mascara - and that really hasn't changed! I've been testing out many liquid liners over the past few years and last year I came across the brand Eyeko and their Skinny Liquid Eye Liner that was free with a copy of Glamour magazine. I completely fell in love with this eye liner and only used it on special occasions as I didn't really have the money to repurchase it if it ran out! Obviously after a while I did run out so I had to find new and cheaper alternatives to the lovely Eyeko liner.
Recently Glamour has done the same freebie and I was able to pick up a brand-spanking new eye liner for a mere £2! I've actually seen quite a few mixed reactions to this eye liner, so I thought it would be good to share my thoughts and opinions on the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner in Black Review Felt Tip Applicator Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

The Eyeko liquid liner comes in a sleek bright blue box and, as you may know, I love it when makeup items come in their own boxes because it always makes them feel a lot more expensive. The liner itself is a thin silver pen that fits in your hand perfectly and makes applying it super easy!

With this month's Glamour magazine, the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner came in both a navy and black shade, and as I'm a lover of the classic liner look I opted for the black shade. What I love about this eye liner is how opaque and jet black the liner comes out on the skin. As it has a super skinny felt tip applicator it allows you to either create a super thin line for an everyday natural look or allow you to build up the intensity and create a thicker, cat like effect! The felt tip applicator is also quite long and has a good amount of flexibility which adds to the ease of applying it.

Once applied to the eye, the skinny liquid liner dries fairly quick which helps minimise any smudging or transferring. Throughout the day I find that the liner stays put and doesn't start to smudge or fade until the end of the day. I'm really impressed with how well this liner lasts on the eyes as I've never found it to go patchy or fade, even in really hot weather! Despite being really long lasting, the skinny liquid liner is easy to remove with a bit of eye makeup remover and a cotton pad which is always a bonus for those of us with sensitive eyes!

Overall I personally think the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner is a great piece to keep in your makeup bag! I've also read that many people found that this eye liner dried up really quick, but even with my older one I never found this to happen and it still produced an opaque black line after a few months of using it. For me this eye liner works really well and is definitely one I would consider repurchasing in the future, or I could always stock up on Glamour magazines haha! I believe you can still pick up this eye liner as a freebie, so be sure to pick up a copy as soon as possible!

Miss Selfridge Wish List | Pastels & Florals

Miss Selfridge Florals Pastels Fashion Accessories Wish List Summer 2014 Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

For years now Miss Selfridge has been one of my favourite places to shop for the latest fashion pieces as I've always been drawn in by their cute girly prints and gorgeous accessories! The other day I was having a browse through their website and found so many lovely pieces that I would just love to own! So I thought it was only natural to create a wish list post and share my fashion finds with you all. As you can see I went for a very specific theme here and seemed to only pick out floral and pastel pieces - for those who know me this probably won't come as much surprise!

1. Hawaiian Print T-Shirt | LINK | & Hawaiian Print Mini Skirt | LINK |
Despite co-ordinating pieces being such a huge trend recently, I haven't actually got round to picking up a set of my own! I spotted this t-shirt and skirt combo  and thought the print was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for the summer. I can imagine this would look amazing with a pair of heels and totally dressed up for a night out with the girls!

2. Floral Printed Skort | LINK |
Since originally spotting these floral skorts on the website, they have now become a new welcome addition to my wardrobe! I love the print on these and I think they can be easily dressed up or down depending on what you pair them with. I actually wore them out this weekend with a loose black cami and black wedges and I loved how it looked! What I love about skorts is that they look like a super cute swishy skirt, yet you have the security of them being actual shorts - always good for a windy day haha!

3. Blue Baroque Floral Print Top | LINK |
What really drew me in about this top are the colours and that it has little sleeves. I own so many cami style tops at the moment so I'm trying to add some tops with actual sleeves into my wardrobe and I think this would be a great piece to have. I also like that the pattern is quite simple and muted which means you can just pair the top with some light wash jeans for an effortlessly pretty outfit!

4. Mid Wash Crochet Trim Shorts | LINK |
The denim shorts from Miss Selfridge have all been really cute recently and this pair in particular caught my eye! I like how there's a small amount of crochet detailing at the bottom and I think paired with the top above it definitely adds a little something to the overall look.

5. Floral Overlay Playsuit | LINK |
I always find blue and purple florals to look so lovely on clothes so this playsuit really appealed to me! I think it's really sweet and the kind of piece you can wear for any occasion. I've always been a huge lover of playsuits as well as they're so easy to wear and I definitely prefer them to dresses!

6. Coral Embellished Vest | LINK | 7. Rose Floral Jogger | LINK |
The next 2 pieces I found seemed made a really cute outfit, so I thought I would talk about them together! I really do love my corals so this top would be something really simple to add to my wardrobe that would go with pretty much anything - especially these floral joggers! As the colour of the top picks out the corals in the roses on the joggers, I think these 2 would look so lovely together! Plus these floral joggers would make a great transitional piece for Summer/ Autumn when the evening get a bit cooler yet you still want a pretty Summery print!

8. Pastel Green Stone Necklace | LINK | 9. White Stone Flower Necklace | LINK |
Miss Selfridge has always been my favourite shop to buy jewellery from as it's quite inexpensive and is good quality. I do mainly buy my jewellery from their sale but these 2 necklaces both look too pretty to pass up! I have many statement necklaces in my collection but nothing like these 2 and I think they would be perfect for glamming up a Summer time outfit!

10. Eden Summer Flat | LINK |
I have been on the hunt for this style of shoe for quite some time and I keep looking at these Miss Selfridge ones! I'm not too sure if they're classed as sandals but they are definitely they kind of shoe that everyone needs in the Summer. I think these would look really cute with midi dresses or a simple Summer's day outfit - I will definitely be on the hunt for these next time I'm in Miss Selfridge.

11. Pink Flower Head Band | LINK |
Flower head bands are perfect for festivals and weddings, yet even thought I'm not going to either any time soon I still really want one of my own! I think they look so cute on and if I could pull off wearing one everyday, I totally would!

12. Pastel Stone Ring Pack | LINK |
Finally I spotted these really cute pastel stone rings and thought they would help complete any outfit during the Summer time! As you get a selection of shades to wear, you can swap and change depending on what you're wearing or you could wear all 3 for some pastel bling overload!

So these are some of the things from the Miss Selfridge website that I have really been loving! If you don't shop at Miss Selfridge very much I totally recommend that you pop into their store more often as they always have such a lovely selection of clothes and accessories to choose from! Thank you for reading and do let me know in the comments your thoughts on my Miss Selfridge wish list.

What are your favourite pieces from my wish list?

New Everyday Lipstick | Soap & Glory Fabu Lipstick

Soap And Glory Super Colour Fabu Lipstick In The Missing Pink Satin Finish Review Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Soap & Glory Super Colour Fabu Lipstick in "The Missing Pink" | £9.00 | LINK

Despite owning numerous lipsticks in a variety of shades, I was never able to find "the one" that I could stick to and officially call my everyday lipstick. I used to easily get bored of nude lipsticks and after a while I just wanted to go back to wearing brighter and more fun colours. After a recent trip to Boots and being sucked into the 3 for 2 offer on Soap & Glory makeup, I decided to try out one of their Super Colour Fabu Lipsticks in the shade "The Missing Pink" and now I can finally say I've found my perfect everyday lipstick! I've only tried one of the matte versions of these lipsticks before, but as it's summer I much prefer a glossier looking lip so I decided to give this beautiful shade a try.

Soap And Glory Super Colour Fabu Lipstick In The Missing Pink Satin Finish Packaging Lipstick Tube Review Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Soap And Glory Super Colour Fabu Lipstick In The Missing Pink Satin Finish Review Packaging Name Label Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

The Super colour Fabu Lipsticks come in their own individual box which I personally think makes a lipstick seem a lot more expensive - not just the £9.00 I actually paid. As this lipstick is from the satin finish line, the outer packaging of the lipstick itself is a glossy black tube with the signature pink Soap & Glory writing on the front. As much as I adore Soap & Glory's packaging, the fact that everything is black and pink makes distinguishing my liquid liner from my brow pen from the bottom of my makeup bag quite a tricky job. However I still love it and think it's very pretty to look at!

"The Missing Pink" is a gorgeous pink/ nude with a satin finish and has a small amount of very fine shimmer in it. I really love the finish of this lipstick as it leaves a good amount of sheen on the lips but at the same time isn't overly shiny and glossy. This means those who prefer a matte lip might still be able to get away with this shade yet at the same time those who are a lover of the glossy lip can apply a pink or nude lip gloss over the top to make more of an impact! For me I think it's a perfect in between and I love just wearing it on its own.

After applying "The Missing Pink" for the first time I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful the formula was! This satin finish lipstick contains shea butter, monoi butter and vitamin E which together makes it super creamy, soft and a complete dream to apply. Usually some nude lipsticks can cling to drier patches of skin on the lips as their formulas aren't very nourishing, but for "The Missing Pink" I can actually feel my lips being hydrated as I wear it! Even though "The Missing Pink" is such a creamy lipstick, I find it has a really good wear time of about 3 to 4 hours which is usually how often I reapply my lipstick anyway. I also find it wears off pretty evenly too so you're never left with that awkward lipstick line around your lips!

Another thing that I love about this lipstick (which you can actually find in most Soap & Glory lip products) is the scent of the product. If you like sweet, pleasant vanilla scents then this lipstick is definitely one for you! It tastes amazing on the lips (even thought you shouldn't be tasting them haha!) and I think this makes the lipstick feel even more luxurious and high end.

Overall I'm seriously impressed with how well this lipstick works! I love that it's such a wearable nude shade that works with every makeup look and occasion. I also think this lipstick would work for a huge array of skin tones, especially the fairer skins as it's such a beautiful and natural shade. I'm really tempted to pick up some more of these lipsticks so if you've tried them before please let me know what shades you've tried!

Spring & Summer Fashion | Floral Prints

Spring Summer Fashion Floral Prints Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

When it comes to the Summer time, floral prints are an absolute staple in my wardrobe. In all honesty I love wearing florals all year long, but there's something about the warmer weather where I like to wear brighter and more colourful flower prints! I thought I would put together a few outfits to show you all some of my favourite floral pieces I have found on the high street recently plus different items you can pair them with.

In each of the outfits I have kept with the same sandals purely because they are my favourite things to wear in the Summer time and they are all that I live in! Of course you can swap them up for flats, flip flops, wedges or even heels, this is just what I would pair these outfits with!

I spotted these gorgeous bright blue and pink floral shorts a few weeks back in New Look and luckily there was one pair left in my size. I absolutely adore the colours in these shorts and they definitely scream Summer time! As these are quite a bright print, I've paired them with a simple loose fitting cami from Oasis - this way you can easily dress up the outfit with a statement necklace. I also love wearing my denim jacket with this outfit when it gets a bit chillier in the evenings. This definitely dresses down the outfit but I think it makes it cute for evening BBQs or parties. I think this is a great outfit for the day when worn with sandals or flats, but it can also be worn with killer wedges to make a night time outfit!

After weeks of hunting for a simple yet affordable kimono for my holiday, I came across this really cute one in the teen's section of New Look! At only £12.99 is was pretty much half the price of the ones sold in the women's section plus as it had such a sweet print, I couldn't pass it up. Floral kimonos are great for adding pattern and texture to a really simple outfit or can be thrown over a bikini when you're relaxing by the pool. As the background colour of this kimono was black, I decided it would look best over a simple black cami which I tucked into my Miss Selfridge denim shorts. I love that these shorts have a really pretty trim and a slightly scalloped edge as it adds that extra bit of detail to the outfit!

To add a bit more floral-ness to the outfit, I paired it with one of my current favourite necklaces which is a daisy chain choker. This necklace can be pretty much worn with anything and I really love how well it goes with this outfit!

A couple years ago I would be absolutely terrified to wear an outfit like this; crop tops and bright coloured jeans were a no go for me! But over the past few months I've become a lot more confident in the clothes I wear and become comfortable with wearing brighter pieces - especially for the Summer! As soon as I spotted this crop top in Forever 21 I knew I had to have it and at just £6.50 you can't really go wrong! I knew instantly that these jeans would go perfectly with this top as they pick out the coral flowers in the print. If you are worried about showing off your belly, then this top goes really well with high waisted shorts (I also wear this top with the denim shorts in the photos above), jeans or skirts. I can't wait to go back to Forever 21 and pick up some more of these tops in different prints, I think they're so pretty for the Summer!

Thank you for reading today's fashion post, I really hope you enjoyed it! I want to keep the content on my blog quite varied so if you enjoy my fashion posts and would like to see me show other fashion trends with high street pieces then do let me know in the comments below!

Daily Favourites | Palmer's Cocoa Butter Body Lotion

Daily Favourites Palmer's Cocoa Butter Plump Body Lotion Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion | £5.89 | LINK

Hello everyone! After being back from my lovely holiday away in Cyprus for over a week now, I thought it was about time I got my head down and started blogging again! Today I'm going to be doing another post for my "daily favourites" series and this one is going to be about one of the nicest body lotions I have ever tried. I've always been such a slacker when it comes to applying body lotion everyday. Some that I have used in the past just leave me with greasy feeling skin or takes forever to sink in, so I just felt slightly apprehensive about using that one again!

A few months ago I decided to pick up the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion as I wanted to try something different. I've heard so many good things about the Palmer's range, but was always put off at how boring it looked (yes, I am a huge sucker for packaging which is probably why I love brands like Soap & Glory!) and that it was mainly targeted for pregnant women to treat scars and stretch marks. However I thought I would just give it a go as it claims to really benefit the skin and it's much cheaper than other body lotions I've tried.

Daily Favourites Palmer's Cocoa Butter Plump Body Lotion Dry Skin Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

The Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion is a creamy yellow coloured lotion that is quite thin in consistency. I was quite surprised how thin this lotion was as many cocoa butters I have tried before were very thick and rich. Even though it's much thinner than other cocoa butters, the Palmer's lotion is still incredibly rich in vitamin E and other ingredients that help leave your skin feeling super soft and smooth. As I suffer with very dry skin (especially on my elbows and shoulders) I need a good moisturiser that will help treat these areas and prevent them from becoming dry and dehydrated again in the short term.

Within the first use of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion I was in love with how it left my skin feeling. Once applied, my skin feels so smooth, soft and it helps relieve any areas of dry skin on my body. The lotion also has a lovely scent of cocoa butter which I personally love and makes me think my skin is really being treated and moisturised. I find it best to apply this body lotion straight after having a shower when your skin is still warm and slightly damp as it allows the cocoa butter to absorb into your skin. After just a few minutes of applying the body lotion, it's completely sunken in to my skin and doesn't leave me feeling greasy or uncomfortable which means I can get dressed straight away! Throughout the day you can still smell the cocoa butter on your skin which I really love plus it shows that the lotion is still keeping your skin hydrated all day long!

Daily Favourites Palmer's Cocoa Butter Plump Body Lotion Benefits Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Overall I think this is such a lovely body lotion and one that I will definitely keep in my body care collection! After using this everyday over the past 2 months, it's left my skin feeling so soft even on days that I do forget to apply it! This huge 400ml body lotion has lasted me a very long time but after using it everyday for a couple months I will be needing to repurchase a new bottle very soon. I'm also tempted to try out their self tanning version, so if you've tried that before then do let me know what you think of it. So if you suffer with dry skin or just need a lotion that will leave your skin feeling and smelling beautiful, then definitely give the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Body Lotion a try!

Guest Post Bank Holiday Shopping Haul Molly Louise Blog Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone! I'm Molly and I write my own blog called 'Molly-Louise Beauty' where I write a mix of beauty, fashion and lifestyle posts and today I am doing a guest post for Amie's blog. I went shopping over the bank holiday weekend and thought I would share with you everything that I got :)

Guest Post Bank Holiday Shopping Haul New Look Primark Floral Molly Louise Blog Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

New Look Blue Floral Top £14.99 | LINK
I have grown out of 90% of the clothes in my wardrobe so have been gradually rebuilding it with new additions over a long period of time and summer clothes was what I needed most. I really wanted a brighter piece of clothing to add to my wardrobe and floral prints seem to be everywhere at the moment! I love this top as it is a more pale blue but has the almost-neon pink and orange flowers. Fits well, perfect for summer and was a bargain! :)

Primark Sheer Grey Floral Blouse £12
Primark Black Slipper Pumps £4
Primark Black Bow Pumps £5
Again, another floral top! This is a grey top with some cream flowers all over and it is quite sheer so you would have to wear a vest top underneath! It has very short sleeves and it is quite long but you could just tuck it into a skirt or some denim shorts and you're good to go! I also got some black pumps for college and work as well as some slightly different ones with a bow and a little bit of gold bar detailing :)

Guest Post Bank Holiday Shopping Haul Topshop MAC Collection Tresemme Store Twenty One Molly Louise Blog Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Topshop Rose Gold Chain and Fabric Entwined Necklace £13.50
I wanted this necklace for a while and had looked in so many stores and at so many jewellery stands to find it! Luckily I managed to find it in Cambridge and grabbed it while I could :) It is a rose gold chain necklace with some grey fabric entwined into it to add something extra; perfect way to add something to a plain outfit!

Tresemmé Keratin Smooth 7 Day Smooth Shampoo £5.99
Tresemmé Keratin Smooth 7 Day Smooth Conditioner £5.99
Tresemmé Keratin Smooth 7 Day Smooth Heat Activated Treatment £6.99
The idea of these hair products really intrigued me when I found out that they were heat activated and thought I would give them a try as they were on a 3 for 2 offer. You wash your hair with the shampoo and conditioner which are the support to the treatment which you put it your hair while it is still wet after you have brushed it. You then blow dry your hair and then straighten it giving you really soft and straight hair! I am impressed so far but have only used it once :) These will last ages too as you only need to use them every 4th time you wash your hair!

Guest Post Bank Holiday Shopping Haul MAC Creamsheen lipstick Sunny Seoul Store Twenty One Mint Heart Molly Louise Blog Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 1 Fair £4.19
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Sunny Seoul £15

Surprisingly I only got two make up items which is unusual for me haha! I got my favourite concealer again as I had searched maybe 6 stores trying to find it because it is so popular! Covers amazing, excellent price and definitely something I will continue to buy :)
I also got my first MAC lipstick and makeup product in general which is in the shade 'Sunny seoul'. This has a cremesheen finish which I quite like as it is really smooth on the lips with excellent pigmentation! Gorgeous pink shade, perfect for this time of year!

Store Twenty One Mint Heart 'Happy Go Lucky' Plaque £1 Was £1.99
Finally, I got this really sweet heart wall plaque for only £1 with the quote 'happy go lucky' and I feel like it was an extra addition for my bedroom whilst gradually doing it up :)

Thank you so much for reading my guest post!

VO5 Hair Care

VO5 Hair Care Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
VO5 Hair Care | LINK

Hello everyone I hope you're all well! Today's post is going to be my last post before I leave rainy old England and jump on a plane to the sunny island of Cyprus! I am so excited for this holiday and trust me, I'm in big need for a good week of relaxing and drinking cocktails by the pool! My blog won't be going bare this week though as I do have a guest post lined up from a lovely blogger so I do hope you check back soon to have a read!

Today I wanted to talk about some products from VO5 that have recently become a part of my everyday hair care/ styling routine! Over the past few months I've been trying out a small selection of the vast array of products they sell and over this time I have really started to love using them. I've only tried their styling products as I'm happy using my Aussie shampoos and conditioners for now (read my review of them here), but I'm definitely considering trying the VO5 ones in the future!

VO5 Hair Care Review High Volume Weather Resistant Hairspray Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

VO5 High Volume Weather Resistant Hairspray | £3.29 | LINK
This hairspray is the most recent VO5 addition to my collection as my trusty old Pantene Ice Shine Hairspray just suddenly stopped working one day - rather odd! As I have very fine hair that lacks volume at the roots, I thought this product would be great at keeping my hair in place and offer me some much needed volume! The High Volume hairspray comes out as a very fine mist that's easy to work with that leaves your hair looking natural and shiny. I think this is a great hairspray as it really does keep my hair and curls in place plus prevents those pesky little fly away hairs from appearing. I also find it works really well when you spray it into your roots to give your hair lots of volume!

VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray | £3.79 | LINK
The Give Me Texture dry spray is actually a form of sea salt spray, but unlike many others I have tried it doesn't leave my hair tacky or crispy feeling! It's a fine mist that just adds a bit of texture to the hair and makes styling messy buns, pony tails or even fish tail braids very easy! I love the whole messy casual hair look and I think this is a great product to use to achieve this style.

VO5 Hair Care Review Plump It Up Dry Shampoo Smoothly Does It Tame Shine Heat Defence Spray Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

VO5 Plump It Up Dry Shampoo | £3.79 | LINK
This is an all time staple in my hair care routine now, I don't think I could ever live without this dry shampoo because it really is amazing! The Plump It Up Dry Shampoo offers lots of texture and volume to the roots of my hair as well as making it smell fresh and clean all day long. Again it's also a very fine mist that comes out nearly translucent on my dark hair. I think colourless dry shampoos are an essential for me as I hate brushing out that horrible "grey hair look" that you can get from ones like Batiste! I think everyone should give this dry shampoo a go, it's an absolute must for me!

VO5 Smoothly Does It Tame & Shine Heat Defence Spray | £3.89 | LINK
My final favourite hair care product from VO5 is the Smoothly Does It Tame & Shine Heat Defence Spray. What I really like about this product is that it's multi-purpose. It offers heat defence which is an essential step in any hair care routine plus it can be used as a finishing spray to tame fly aways and add extra shine to your hair! I mainly use this as my heat defence spray and it always leaves my hair feeling really soft afterwards. I do use a lot of heat on my hair but since using this product I've noticed my hair hasn't got as many split or damaged ends as it did before using it!

VO5 Hair Care Review Packaging Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Overall I would highly recommend trying out the VO5 styling range! They have so many different lines of products that I'm sure there's something for everyone - each of these products come from different lines and there's even ones I haven't tried before! I would also like to mention that every product I've tried from VO5 has a really lovely scent (especially the Smoothly Does It spray) and they always leave my hair smelling amazing! If you're looking for some new hair care products to add to your routine, head to your local supermarket or drugstore and try out the VO5 line.

Review Of St Moriz Instant Shimmer Wash Off Fake Tan Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello lovelies, I hope you're all having a great start to your weekend! Now that we roll into the Summer months, it's always essential to keep some fake tan at arm's reach - especially if you live in the UK where the sun's appearance isn't very frequent! I've been a fan of St Moriz's fake tans for a long time and I always have a bottle of their instant spray tan stashed in my drawers. I was recently sent their latest release called the St Moriz Instant Shimmer Tan which is an instant wash off tan. I've only tried a couple of these kinds of fake tans in my life as I've always prefer using the spray on versions, but I was very interested in seeing how well this new product works and whether it gave me a gorgeous glowing tan!

The new St Moriz Instant Shimmer Tan is a fake tan that works by giving your skin an instant hint of colour that can be easily washed off later on with soap and water. It also contains tiny bits of golden shimmer than add a beautiful sheen to the skin and can actually be used in helping contour the body and giving it a 3D effect! St Moriz have put together a little how-to guide on how to achieve a 3D/ contouring effect using the Instant Shimmer Tan plus their Instant Tanning Mousse which you can read here.

The St Moriz Instant Shimmer Tan is designed to give your skin immediate colour so the product does come out an extremely dark brown shade. Now, for people like me who are fairly pale this can be quite daunting as you do worry that the colour won't blend out properly and you'll be left looking rather silly! However the formula of this instant shimmer tan is very light so it blends into the skin beautifully and turns into a gorgeous light coloured tan that I think will suit a lot of skin tones. I was hoping that this instant tan would be slightly darker but it is nice to use on days where you want a bit of "pick me up" colour added to your skin. However, because it is such a light coloured tan I do think that it will be perfect for those who have very light skin and are worried about using fake tan as some can be too dark for them.

As for the shimmer side of things, I was pleasantly surprised as to how fine the shimmer was and that it didn't make me look like a disco ball! It actually offered a lovely glow to my skin that wasn't too noticeable yet still made my skin look healthy and sun kissed. I also like that this fake tan doesn't have a very strong scent and once it's applied to the skin you can hardly smell it at all!

When it comes to applying the St Moriz Instant Shimmer Tan I find the best way is to use a standard fake tan mitt to achieve an even and streak-free result. I apply a fair amount of product on to the mitt and then blend it into my skin in circular motions (I find it's best to work from your legs up so that you don't form any crease marks on your belly!). It literally takes about 5 to 10 minutes to apply the fake tan to my body and I find it dries so quickly that I can get dressed just a few minutes after! Once dry it leaves a beautiful looking tan on my skin that's really natural looking and most importantly doesn't transfer on to my clothes throughout the day. The colour of this instant tan does last me most of the day but I do find the shimmer wears off after a few hours which is a problem if you're mainly using this product for contouring and highlighting. However it does leave your skin look healthy and tanned all day long which is what I personally look for in my fake tan!

Overall the St Moriz Instant Shimmer Tan is a great product to use this Summer. It gives the skin a lovely light tan and a slight sheen that makes your skin look gorgeous! For me, I think this looks best when applied over another fake tan as it intensifies the colour and gives your skin that lovely glow. But if you're a beginner to fake tan or have very pale skin, I think this would be the perfect product for you to try as it isn't too dark and can be easily washed off if you make any mistakes!

Daily Favourites | Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Daily Favourites Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | £4.99 | LINK

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely week! I thought I would start a new little series on my blog called "Daily Favourites" which is where I basically review beauty products that I use everyday no matter what I'm doing. As I use these products on a daily basis, I can review them for you in depth and give you guys a proper review of how they work for me in the long term. There are a range of products from skin care to hair care and even body products I use everyday, so I'm hoping this will be a fun little series for you all to read!

To start off the series I thought I would finally share my thoughts and opinions on one of the biggest products in the beauty market right now - micellar water! Micellar water is a product that can cleanse, soothe and tone then skin as well as remove makeup - so is a great multi purpose product. Having previously used the L'Oreal version I decided to pick up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water as it seemed much better value for money. For £4.99 you get a huge 400ml bottle (the L'oreal version is just 200ml) that is meant to last for up to 200 uses. I love how simple, fresh and clean the packaging is of the Garnier micellar water and it definitely looks as though it will cleanse my skin well. I also think the little pink touches of the lid and writing make it just that bit more pretty amongst my other skin care products!

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water literally has a water like consistency and is designed to be poured onto a cotton pad and wiped across the skin to remove your makeup. It's perfect for sensitive skin and can be used across your eyes and lips without causing any irritation! I have quite sensitive eyes (and skin in general) but for me this just feels like wiping water across them as it's so gentle and soothing!

I use this micellar water in 2 different ways and the first is to simply remove my makeup at night. I pour a fair amount of micellar water on to a large cotton pad and simply wipe away my makeup. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water dissolves away the makeup in seconds leaving me with clean, fresh and hydrated skin. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water has a very delicate and fresh scent which is pretty much undetectable once on the skin which is lovely for those of us who are quite sensitive. I love that this micellar water doesn't dry my skin out or make it tight as I do suffer with fairly dry skin and I have used makeup removers before that have done this! Once I've removed all of my makeup (including my eye makeup) I will then cleanse my skin again with my Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean cleanser to remove any last traces of makeup.

Once I've doubled cleansed my face I will then take a smaller cotton pad and carry out the second way I use this micellar water, which is as a toner in the morning and at night. As the Garnier micellar water has such soothing and hydrating properties, I find that it works really well as a toner as it removes those last bits of stubborn makeup plus removes any of my Peaches & Clean cleanser that may have been left behind! I find that doing this extra step leaves my skin feeling so soft, clean and fresh! I always recommend people to add a toner into their skin care routine and as the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water can double up as your makeup remover and a toner, then there's no excuse not to!

Overall this is a wonderful product to add to your skin care routine. I find that the Garnier micellar water works so much better than facial wipes as it leaves your skin clear and hydrated! It's also great it's designed for sensitive skins as it's always a nightmare trying to find new skin care than doesn't break me out and I'm please to say this has actually improved the overall condition of my skin! This will definitely be a product I will keep on repurchasing in the future as it works so well for me.
