Everyday Red Lip | Perfect Day

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabu Lipstick in "Perfect Day" | £9.00 | LINK

My lipstick is probably the makeup item I change up the most. I enjoy playing around with bright shades during the summer and vampy dark colours during the winter months. As well as these intense shades, I love finding simple and classic lipsticks that I can wear on an everyday basis. Due to my skin being fairly pale, I find that standard nude lipsticks don't suit me very well, so I do have to sway towards ones that have a bit more colour to them.

After falling in love with my Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabu Lipstick in the shade "The Missing Pink" which is a gorgeous everyday pink shade (read my review here), I decided I needed to try more of their range. There isn't a huge shade selection in their lipstick range, but I decided to pick up the shade "Perfect Day" in a haul (which you can read here) and have been using it every day since!

"Perfect Day" is a beautiful light red lipstick with a slight pink tone to it. It's definitely one of those shades that I think will suit any skin tone because it's really natural looking on the lip, yet it can be built up to be a much richer red colour. With the satin finish and hydrating formula that contains shea butter and vitamin E, it offers a slight shine to the lips that's very flattering. I find that the satin finishes of these lipsticks never dry out my lips because of their gorgeous formula and they can be applied without using a lip balm first. One of the main things I love about these lipsticks is the gorgeous vanilla scent which really does linger on the lips for a long time. I hate lipsticks that smell fake and artificial, so it's great when you find a good quality lipstick with an amazing scent.

The packaging of the Super-Colour Fabu Lipsticks is one of the nicest on the high street considering it retails at just £9. I love how each lipstick comes in their own little box and the tube itself is a glossy black, gold and pink combination which looks much more expensive than it is! What I also like about the packaging is that the lipstick tube and lid are very sturdy and it feels very luxurious when you turn up the lipstick.

I've found that these lipsticks last a good amount of time on the lips. When I've been wearing it to work, I find "Perfect Day" lasts around 3 hours but it does fade after I've eaten. I do think this is because it has a satin finish and doesn't stain the lips as much as a matte lipstick would. I don't mind reapplying this lipstick every few hours as I feel like I would need to to keep up the nourishing feel that it gives my lips when it's applied. This lipstick is really lovely to apply as the hydrating formula allows it to apply really smoothly and gives a lot of colour in just one swipe!

Overall I've really been loving this lipstick and I feel like I need to buy the rest of the range! Hopefully Soap & Glory will add more shades to their range as I do feel that it is quite limited to standard pink/ red tones. I would love to see some more vampy colours for the winter time and maybe some bright pinks and corals for the summer!

Have you tried any of the Soap & Glory lipsticks?

Yankee Candle Collection

Yankee-Candle-Collection-Jar-Votive-Samplers-Wax-Melts-Tarts-Christmas-Wiinter-Spring-Fresh-Scents-Belle-Amie-UK-Beauty-Fashion-Lifestyle-Blog

Being a girl and a beauty blogger, my obsession for candles has grown slightly out of control over the past few months - in particular I have been loving Yankee Candles! I've managed to get both my mum and sister completely obsessed as well and we always seem to have some form of Yankee Candle burning in the house. As we're still in the middle of Winter, it's the perfect time of year to be burning candles as they always make the room feel so much cosier and relaxing.

Over the Christmas period I did build up quite a collection of Yankee Candles, many of which I received as gifts and some that I bought myself. I always like to buy their candles when they're on offer, for example Clinton Cards do a deal every month where they take 25% off their scent of the month and places like Hallmark sometimes do 20% off events across all Yankee products - amazing! Of course you can also pick up scents at the end of the season where you can get samplers and wax melts for half price in shops like House of Fraser (trust me, I can smell a Yankee Candle deal a mile off haha!)

So I thought I would split up my Yankee Candles into 2 categories depending on what sort of scents I feel that they fall into. Obviously as it's been Christmas recently I have accumulated quite a lot of Winter scents, so I thought I would start with them!

Christmas Eve Medium Jar | This was the only candle I was burning in the week leading up to Christmas! Even though it's called "Christmas Eve", it's definitely not a scent that can be limited to the Christmas period. It is a sweet fruity scent with a nice warm feel to it, so could be used all throughout Winter!

Fire Side Treats Small Jar | I only have a couple of jars as they are quite expensive, but I usually get them in Clintons when they're 25% off. "Fire Side Treats" smells just like roasted marshmallows so has that warm, sweet scent that's good enough to eat. I find the scent of this one quite delicate, probably because it's in a smaller jar as it definitely doesn't fill up the room as much as "Christmas Eve".

Merry Berry Simply Home Votive | This scent is exactly what it says - a nice fresh mixed berry scent with a slight spicy hint to it. The Simply Home Yankee Candles are just as lovely as the proper version as they still use high quality ingredients, they're just sold at a lower price in places like Asda and Tesco!

Cranberry Ice Votive | I've already burnt one of these this Winter and I had to pick up another in the sale as it's such a fresh, clean and zesty scent that really lifts and fills the room.

Angel's Wings Votive | I recently picked this candle up in the House of Fraser sale. I'm after some fresh scents to use in the weeks leading up to Spring and I thought this one was perfect! It's a very soft scent with floral and vanilla notes to give a relaxing fragrance.

Christmas Cookie Votive | This is probably one of the most popular candles over the Christmas season due to its rich, yummy vanilla scent! I also have this in wax tart version which is what you can see in my wax burner in the photos. I really love this candle as vanilla is such a simple yet lovely scent to have in the home!

Frosted Spruce Simply Home Wax Melt | Before Christmas, I was trying to hunt down the scent "Christmas Tree" as I thought it would be nice to burn in the dinning room where the tree was to give off that gorgeous pine scent. I had no luck finding it and wasn't too sure if it had been discontinued. However, I did receive this wax tart in "Frosted Spruce" which smells just like Christmas trees so I'm going to save this until next Christmas so that I can burn it along side the tree to give off that beautiful scent!

Christmas Treats Simply Home Wax Melt | This is extremely similar to "Christmas Cookie" and has the same rich vanilla scent. I probably won't burn this for a while as my "Christmas Cookie" wax melt has been stuck in my wax burner for weeks, so I feel like I need to use up some different scents first!

Sunlight On Snow Simply Home Wax Melt | My last Christmas/ Winter scent is this fresh smelling wax melt. Even though it's very fresh, it still has a slight warmth to it so I think the name "Sunlight On Snow" works really well for this scent!

Yankee-Candle-Collection-Jar-Votive-Samplers-Wax-Melts-Tarts-Spring-Fresh-Scents-Belle-Amie-UK-Beauty-Fashion-Lifestyle-Blog

As we're slowly but surely moving towards the Spring months, I've been trying to build up some fresh and fruity scents to start burning in the weeks to come. Some of these I've actually had since my birthday in August, but I was saving them to burn in my new house as I moved very shortly after! The main thing I was saving to use until after I moved was this gorgeous Yankee Candle Vintage Pink Floral Tart Burner! As I'm going for a pink, grey and cream theme in my room, I thought it would make a gorgeous accent piece. I actually found this in a House of Fraser sale for just £3.90 - an absolute bargain!

Vanilla Lime Votive | This is actually a scent my mum introduced me to and I'm completely obsessed! This is what we usually have burning in our living room but I thought I'd pick up a sampler size for my bedroom too. I absolutely love the zesty lime against the rich vanilla scent in this candle and together they work perfectly. Definitely give this one a sniff when you're in your local Yankee Candle shop!

Summer Scoop Votive | This gorgeous scent is one I've been saving since August to use in my new room! This smells just like fresh berry ice cream and is another scent that is just good enough to eat - such a shame you can't though haha!

Soft Cotton Simply Home Votive | "Soft Cotton" is a very simple fresh scent that can be used anytime of the year as it leaves your room smelling clean and fresh. I have a couple of these at it's such a staple scent to have in your collection.

Sweet Pea Simply Home Wax Melt | For Christmas I asked for some fresh candles and this is one that I received. I wouldn't have personally picked it up, but I do actually think it's a lovely fresh scent for the Spring time. Also as it's a wax melt the scent won't be too strong so it will just give the room a lovely light fragrance.

Strawberry Buttercream Wax Melt | The last scent in my collection is the first ever wax melt that I bought back when I found my wax burner! I actually bought 3 of these because they were half price and I found the sweet strawberries and cream scent really lovely! I've only used 1 of these wax melts as I find they last such a long time, even if you burn them constantly, which I think is great value for money considering they're the cheapest way to try Yankee scents.

So these are all of the Yankee Candles that are currently in my collection! I probably don't need to buy any more candles for the rest of the year, but I'm sure I'll find some scents that I need to own. I know this post is quite long, but I thought it would be nice to break up each scent so that if you're looking for a particular one, it's easier to find it! Let me know your thoughts on my Yankee Candle collection and tell me what your favourite scents are in the comments below!

Building My Urban Decay Palette

Building-My-Urban-Decay-Palette-Belle-Amie-UK-Beauty-Fashion-Lifestyle-Blog

Hello my lovelies, today wanted to share an eye shadow palette with you that's currently a work in progress. Being a huge fan of Urban Decay eye shadows, last year I decided to pick up one of the "build your own" palettes from the House of Fraser's sale so that I could store my single shadows together. I'm not personally someone who will take away singular eye shadows when I go travelling as I much prefer to have everything I need in one little palette.

Urban Decay have a small range of build your own palettes available, each in different designs, sizes and some even come with a free eye shadow. I'm not entirely sure what my version is called as it's no longer available, but it has a gorgeous bright paint splatter effect on the front and has space for 6 individual shadows. It came with a free travel sized flat shader brush and there is also a large mirror that sits inside the lid of the palette which makes this a travel friendly piece to have in my collection.

One of the first single eye shadows I owned from Urban Decay was a shade called Midnight Cowgirl. Being one of the first Urban Decay shadows I'd tried, I wanted to keep it a simple and neutral shade yet at the same time something I could wear day or night. Midnight Cowgirl is a warm sand colour with shimmer, so it's neutral enough to wear daily but also has that beautiful glitter in it for an evening look. This is a really beautiful shade that doesn't get much of a mention on blogs, but this is definitely a shade I'd recommend people trying if they like a bit of shimmer!

With the build your own palette I also got the eye shadow shade Walk Of Shame for free which I was really pleased about. At this point I was using my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette religiously and Walk Of Shame had quickly become one of my favourite base shadow shades. As this shade is a light matte nude, it's the perfect colour to create a clean, natural lid that will help blend together any other shadows you apply. After using this shade all the time, I have now really hit pan on Walk Of Shame in my Basics palette so I'm glad I picked up this palette when I did! Now have I have a back up of one of my favourite eye shadows plus I remember only paying around £9 for both the palette and shadow so it was a complete bargain!

My final eye shadow in my palette is one I have used for years, my beloved Sin! This beautiful shimmery champagne is a very popular shade amongst bloggers and features in the original Naked palette. Like Walk Of Shame, I have completely hit pan on this shadow so I was super excited to have received a brand new one for Christmas to pop in my palette! Sin may look exactly the same as Midnight Cowgirl, but I find Sin is much more pink compared to Midnight Cowgirl's golden tone and both look different when on the lid. This is a beautiful shade and if you're going to try out your first ever Urban Decay eye shadow, then I would say give this one a try as it looks really flattering in any eye look!

As you can see from the swatches (or can't see as these shades are all very light and natural - sorry!) all 3 shadows are buttery smooth and are well pigmented. I adore all of the shades in my palette and cannot wait to pick out the next 3 to complete it. What's great about these build your own palettes is that you can swap and change the shadows you put in it depending on what looks you want to create - so there's no reason for me not to buy more shadows! I would love to hear in the comments what other Urban Decay eye shadow shades you think I should add to my little palette as I would love to complete it soon.

Once I have completed this palette I'll update you all with what eye shadows I have decided to put in it! Let me know your thoughts on the 3 shadows I have already chosen and whether you own them as well. Thank you for reading today's post and I will speak to you again next week!

Winter Fashion | Casual Monochrome

Winter Fashion Outfit Of The Day Casual Monochrome Miss Selfridge Oasis Primark Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Dress - Miss Selfridge | Leather Jacket - Oasis | Necklace - Oasis | Tights - Primark | Socks - Oasis | Boots - Primark

Hey lovelies, I hope you've had a great weekend! Over the past few months I've developed a slight obsession for wearing monochrome clothes. Anything black and white has been instantly catching my eye and on my last trip to Miss Selfridge, this lovely little jersey shift dress became one of my newest purchases! I loved the boucle texture and it's very different to anything I own in my wardrobe, yet at the same time it's such a simple everyday dress.
Being a shift style dress made from such a stretchy fabric, I wasn't sure whether it would sit right on my body and be slightly unflattering. But I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on that it's a beautiful fit and is one of those dresses that can easily be dressed up or down depending on what accessories you pair it with! As it's such a comfortable material, I've been wearing this dress for casual occasions such as shopping and spending time with friends and I thought I'd show you how I wear this gorgeous piece.

As this dress is quite short, I don't like to wear my long parka coat with it so I've been pairing it with my beloved faux leather biker jacket from Oasis. I love pairing this leather jacket with dresses as it gives the look an edgier feel, especially with the quilted shoulders and zip detailing. But then, to keep the look girly I've also been wearing cute little socks with ruffles and frills at the top which I think looks really sweet when they pop out the top of your pair of boots!

To complete the look I wore my gorgeous new statement necklace from Oasis which ties in beautifully with the dress as it has grey, silver and black stones and detailing. I've been after a rope statement necklace for ages and was really excited to find this little beauty in the sale! I've literally been wearing it non-stop and I think it completed any simple outfit perfectly.

Let me know in the comments your thoughts on my casual monochrome outfit and how you would style this dress! I think to dress it up I'd wear a pair of black boot style wedges and accessorise it with the same necklace but also add a bright coloured clutch bag - a perfect outfit to wear out for some drinks with the girls! Thank you for reading today's post!

Soap & Glory Beauty Haul

Soap And Glory Beauty Haul Winter 2015 Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well and looking forward to your weekend ahead. In my last post I completely forgot to mention that last weekend I actually took the plunge and invested myself into a brand new Canon camera - the Canon EOS 1200D to be exact! I did use the camera for my last post, but at the time I still had absolutely no idea what I was doing with it so the pictures aren't the best quality in the world. Over the past week I've been playing around with settings and watching lots of YouTube videos on how to use DSLRs properly, so hopefully my photos will gradually start to become better quality!

I am so excited to take lots of pictures with my camera and just so you know, I didn't buy it purely for my blog (as I completely believe normal digital cameras work really well) but also because I have an interest in photography and have always wanted to own a good quality camera! Do let me know if you notice any difference in my picture quality or if you have any tips and tricks on using a Canon camera in the comments below!

Over the past couple years Soap & Glory has become one of my favourite brands to use. Their extensive makeup, skin care and body care range offer some amazing products and I have started to notice that I own far too many of them! The other day I decided to take advantage of Boot's latest deals on the Soap & glory products and pick up some new products as well as some of my essential products from the brand. The makeup is currently buy one get one half price and their skin care has up to half price off, which is definitely a deal not to be missed!

Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer | £7.00 each | LINK
After trying their lip lacquer in Riot last year (read the post here) I told myself that I needed to try out some more shades from the line. As someone who enjoys a good coral lip, picking up Whatchama-Coral was a no brainer for me and was the first product to find its way into my basket. Whatchama-Coral is a beautifully intense coral shade with a hint of shimmer to it. As there has been lots of hype about a brown nude lip recently, I also picked up Charm Offensive to use as an everyday shade and again, it has an amazingly opaque finish with a slight shimmer. What I love about these lacquers is that they don't feel heavy or sticky on your lips yet still offer lots of colour. I also love that they feel smooth on your lips and apply really easily. I will be reviewing these 2 shades very soon, so keep an eye out for swatches!

Super-Colour Fabulipstick | £9.00 | LINK
The next lip product I picked up was another lipstick from the Super-Colour Fabulipstick line. I absolutely adore my lipstick in The Missing Pink (read the post here) and thought I should try out another shade that I could use everyday. As The Missing Pink is a pink shade, I thought picking up a more red toned lipstick would be nice to add to my collection. I decided to go for Perfect Day which is a natural red shade with a satin finish. These lipsticks feel so nourishing on the lips and I would recommend them to anyone! Again, I will be reviewing this lipstick soon where I will include lots of swatches.

Peaches & Clean Cleanser | £8.00 | LINK
Moving on to, what I'd like to call, my "staple Soap & Glory" products. Firstly I picked up one of the Peaches & Clean cleansers which is what I use to cleanse and clean my face everyday. I think this cleanser has some stick for being quite harsh and causing people to have allergic reactions, but I've never once has this issue - despite having very sensitive and dry skin! This cleanser removes all of my makeup and has really helped clear up my skin from blemishes. This is definitely a product I will keep repurchasing in the future!

Thick & Fast Mascara in Super Jet Black | £10.00 | Review | LINK
I have been an avid fan of this mascara for years! The Thick & Fast mascara offers length, volume and definition to the eye lashes all in one nifty little tube. This is just an all round brilliant mascara and is always one that I come back to using. These mascaras also last a really long time without drying up but I always like to make sure I have a back up in my drawer at all times!

Archery Brow Tint & Pencil in Brownie Points | £10.00 | LINK
Finally I picked up one of my favourite makeup products I own, the Archery Brow Tint and Pencil. To me, eye brows are an important feature as they helped to frame your face - so it's essential to keep them looking their best! I find the tint side offers a really natural finish to your brows whilst at the same time making them look fuller and more defined. I really love that you get 2 products in one as well as I do like to use the pencil side if I'm going for a more natural look.

So these are some of the products that I have picked up from the Soap & Glory brand recently! I will definitely be reviewing the lip products, but if you would like to see a post on how I fill in my brows using Archery then do let me know.
Thank you for reading today's post!

Review | Urban Decay Naked On The Run

Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette Review Belle-Amie Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Urban Decay Naked On the Run | £37.00 | LINK

Urban Decay is one of my favourite brands for eye shadows and over the past few years I have collected several palette that I use on a daily basis. Before Christmas I spotted a new release from the brand in the shape of the perfect travel makeup palette. As I had only tried Urban Decay's eye shadows and the odd eye primer, I was so excited to test out a palette that had a range of products to play with! This palette is designed to have everything you need for a complete makeup look (excluding base makeup such as foundation/ powder) making it perfect to pop in your bag when you're travelling or just on the go!

Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette Review Inside The Palette Belle-Amie Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

The Naked On The Run palette comes in the most gorgeous rose gold packaging with a tortoise shell like design on the front. The palette is made from a very sturdy plastic material and helps keeps the products inside well protected when travelling. With a magnetic lid, the palette itself is very easy to open yet strong enough to stay firmly shut whilst it's in your bag. Inside the palette there is a huge mirror that sits in the lid and is the perfect size for applying your makeup on the go! The mirror is such a good size that sometimes I use it just to do my makeup at home, despite having 2 other mirrors on my dressing table! Even though it has a large mirror, the palette itself is a very good size and isn't too bulky to travel with. It fits snuggly in my large Ted Baker makeup bag along with the rest of my makeup, so for me it's very easy to use on the go. It is a gorgeous looking palette (which I wouldn't expect anything less from Urban Decay) but of course, it's what's on the inside that counts!

Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette Review Peversion Mascara Blackest Black Naked Lip Gloss Sesso 24 7 Glide On Eye Pencil Stag Belle-Amie Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

When you open the palette, your eyes are instantly drawn to the 3 products at the top which are: a travel size Perversion mascara in Blackest Black, a travel size 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Stag and a full size Naked Lip Gloss in Sesso. Below that are 6 brand new eye shadow shades which are (left to right): Dive (metallic rose gold), Fix (matte taupe), Resist (metallic taupe), Dare (matte medium brown), Stun (metallic bronze) and 50/50 (satin champagne). I didn't actually realise 50/50 was classed as an eye shadow as I thought it was a highlighter due to it being much larger and on the same row as the bronzer/ blusher. However I have been using this as a brow bone, inner corner highlight and a cheek bone highlighter and I must say it works amazingly well for all 3! Finally you also get a matte mid brown toned bronzer and a shimmery bright pink blusher.

Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette Review Eye Shadow Dive Fix Resist Dare Stun Swatch Belle-Amie Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

The formula of the eye shadows is lovely and completely on point with all their other palettes. Typically with most eye shadows, the shimmery shades of Dive, Resist and Stun are much more buttery and soft compared to the matte shades of Fix and Dare. However all of the shadows are beautiful to apply and blend out to create some gorgeous eye looks. I personally adore applying Dive all of the lid with a bit of Resist or Stun in the crease for a smoky rose gold look. If I'm going for a more subtle look, using Fix on the lid and Dare in the crease creates a very simple defined look. Of course, you can easily mix and match all of these shadows to create your own desired look! The shadows last all day on my eyes (with or without primer) and I never find that they crease or fade.

Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette Review Bronzer Blusher 50 50 Naked Lip Gloss Sesso 24 7 Glide On Eye Pencil Stag Swatch Belle-Amie Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

I really like that this palette contains both a bronzer and blusher as I've always wanted to try the Naked Flushed palettes, and I can imagine these are very similar to them! Both the bronzer and blusher are very soft, pigmented and easy to blend out and together create a lovely glowing look to the cheek. In the photo below I have applied each quite light as I do find bright pink blushers can make my cheeks look overly flushed due to having a pinker undertone to my skin. The 2 products blend together beautifully and can definitely be built up to create a more intense look on darker skins or for a night time look. To complete the look the 50/50 eye shadow/ highlighter adds a beautiful sheen to the cheek bones and eye area without being sparkly.

I was very surprised at how much I loved the Naked Lip Gloss in Sesso. Usually lip glosses are the products I leave alone in palettes like this as they can be sticky and uncomfortable - but the Naked gloss is the complete opposite to what I thought! Sesso is a natural slightly shimmery nude toned pink that adds a gorgeous shine to the lips. It feels really smooth on the lips and isn't at all sticky! Even though the applicator is quite large on this lip gloss, it's very easy to apply and is a perfect gloss to pop in your hand bag.

I've always wanted to try the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils and I was so excited to see that there was one in a beautiful brown shade with a subtle hint of sparkle (which is hardly noticeable if you don't like sparkly eye liners) called Stag! As the name suggests, this liner applies beautifully and literally glides across the upper lash line and leaves behind an intense lined effect. I find on my eyes the liner lasts all day without the need to top it up which is great for when I'm busy at work. As I use eye liner every time I do my makeup, this is a product I might have to invest into as it really is amazing.

The final product in this palette is the Perversion mascara which has comfortably replaced my beloved Thick & Fast mascara from Soap & Glory. I love how this mascara makes my lashes look fuller, longer and helps keep a natural looking curl to them all day long. This mascara can clump a little bit when you apply it, but it's nothing an eye lash comb can't solve. I haven't heard much about this mascara before, but I think it's one I'm definitely going to consider getting the full size version of!

Hello my lovelies and happy New Year! Gosh, after my long break it does feel a bit strange writing and putting together a blog post, but finally I'm back and I have decided to blog again! From around November time I've wanted to get back into blogging which is why I wrote my little apology post (which you can read here) explaining that I will be back soon. With the Christmas holidays coming up it was quit hard to find a spare second to even switch on my laptop, so it did take me just that teeny bit longer than I thought to get back to it!

As you may have noticed my blog has undergone a mini make over and is no longer the blue and pink floral theme it once was. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to refresh and revamp my blog being it the beginning of a new year plus me returning after quite a long time. I'm very happy with how it's turned out as it looks much cleaner and hopefully easier to navigate around for you lovely lot! It's not 100% finished yet, so if you have any recommendations on what I should add to it or whether something needs tweaking then do let me know.

To start off the blogging year, I wanted to do a classic beauty blogger post and review a product that I love! Last year I picked up the Real Techniques Travel Essentials Brush set (read the haul post here) and thought that I would review them for you all. After some thorough use and loving over the past few months I thought I would share my views on this Real Techniques set.

In this set you get 3 brushes that are designed to be your "travel essentials" and the only brushes you'll need for that weekend away - plus you get one of the Real Techniques brush cases to pop them all in. I can see how it is possible to get away with just bringing these 3 brushes as you do get: the Essential Foundation Brush, Multi Task Brush and a Domed Shadow Brush - each of which can deal with different areas of your face. I personally wouldn't use just 3 brushes to do my makeup, mainly because that would involve a lot of spot cleaning, but because I like to use different shaped brushes for different looks. However they do make great additions to my makeup brush collection and each of them can be used in different ways.

Essential Foundation Brush

As with many makeup brush sets, they always contain a trusty foundation brush. At first I wasn't too bothered about this brush as I already had the Pointed Foundation Brush that came in the Real Techniques Core Collection set (review here). But in comparison, the Essential Foundation Brush is much more dense and is larger in size which I personally prefer as it distributes liquid foundation much better for me. The bristles on this brush are soft yet have a firmness to them which really helps in makeup application. Whilst I'm still using my Buffing Brush for my everyday foundation, I like to use this brush for applying highlighters or to blend in my concealer if I'm going for a fresher looking face of makeup.

Multi Task Brush

This brush really does do what it says on the tin! The Multi Task Brush is one of those brushes you can pick up and use for almost anything. My personal favourite is for applying bronzer all over my face (as opposed to using my Contor Brush for contouring) to give my skin that healthy glow during the Summer months. But you could easily use this as your blusher, powder foundation or highlighting brush as it's a really good size and isn't overly fluffy and flimsy. Saying that, the Multi Task Brush is extremely soft so it blends in blushers/ bronzers beautifully and as it's slightly tapered, it gives you plenty of control when applying your makeup.

Domed Shadow Brush

I've saved my favourite brush until last - who can't say they love a good eye shadow brush to add to the 20 others they have sitting on their dressing table! The Domed Shadow Brush works really well at applying both eye shadow to your lid due to it being flat, plus working as your contour brush as it's dense and perfect for fitting in the crease of your eye lid. To top it all off you could probably use it to blend out your eye shadows too as it is fairly fluffy and soft. I use this brush pretty much every time I do my eye makeup as it's just really good at applying shadows to the lid and is just an all round brilliant brush to have in your collection.

I would definitely recommend any makeup lover to add these brushes to their collection as each brush can be used for many different purposes. I think this would be a great little set for someone who just getting into makeup as you get 2 face brushes and an eye brush in this set which I think is more than enough for a beginner! At the same time, as a Real Techniques fan and some one who's worn makeup for many years, I absolutely love them!

Thank you for reading today's post, I'm really excited to get back into the swing of blogging! I'm going to looking at new cameras this weekend as my current one has a smashed screen, so I think it's time for a bit of an upgrade. I'm looking at getting the Canon EOS 1200d as it's a DSLR for beginners, so will hopefully create beautiful pictures without being too complicated to use! But if you have any other camera suggestions then I would love to know.
